Ohhhhhhh, the krebs cycle,
it's something we all need,
the krebs cycle, a very loverly thing
YES! the krebs cycle is what we are singing
It starts with the oxidation of pyruvate,
producing CO2, and acetyl-CoA, woo yeah!
Acetyl-CoA reacts with carbon carboxylic acid, oxaloacetate to form citrate,
that's CITRATE, not NITRATE , oh no!
Through a series of reactions citrate is converted back to oxaloacetate...
oxaloacetate, it's GREAT!.
This cycle produces 2 CO2 and consumes 3 NAD+, (3 NAD plus, 3 NAD plus!)
producing 3NADH and 3H+ (3H!, 3H!)
Are you following us so far? Are you following us SO FAR!
Because it's the wonderful krebs cycle (krebs, krebs, krebs)
because...
It's the krebs cycle,
it's something we all need,
the krebs cycle, a very loverly thing
YES! the krebs cycle is what we are singing
This consumes 3 H2O and consumes one FAD, producing one FADH+,
that'S FADH+, always a plus, plus!!
So we get 1 ATP, 3 NADH, 1 FADH2, 3CO2, waahoo!
And after a little more (little more, little more)
The cycle is complete with
2 ATP (krebs cycle, krebs cycle)
6 NADH (krebs cycle, krebs cycle)
2 FADH2 (KREBS CYCLE, KREBS CYCLE)
and 6CO2 (KREBS CYCLE, KREBS CYCLE)
KRRRRRRREBBBSSS, CYYYYCLLLLLE!
YEAH!
